Google and Amazon register for business in Bangladesh

The world's two largest tech giants Google and Amazon have registered to do business in Bangladesh. In this they will pay 15% VAT of the income received from this country to the government. They will also submit their total turnover and other financial accounts every year.

Two non-residential firms have filed for BINs in Bangladesh for the first time, and they will now pay a 15 percent VAT on revenue earned from Bangladesh and file annual reports on total sales.

Following pressure from the NBR, Facebook Inc hired an agent to conduct business in Bangladesh last year. Despite the fact that the company's agent, Httpool, has been paying VAT to the board, Facebook still lacks a BIN in Bangladesh. Google now has 70 offices in 40 countries, whereas Amazon has offices in 17 countries. In India, both firms have local offices and organizations, notably Amazon's largest location in Hyderabad.

Amazon has a market capitalization of $1.7 trillion as of February 5, 2021. During the 2020 fiscal year, which concluded on December 31, 2020, the corporation earned $21.3 billion in net income.

Google is well-known for its widely used search engine, email service, web browser, and other online tools, which are used by billions of people every day at work, at home, and on the move.

This will lead to extensive progress in the field of technology in the country and will expand the workplace of the country's engineers! Good luck Bangladesh!
